All Guard, Band, and Orchestra students:
Design the logo for the Mt Carmel
Invitational Tournament of Bands!
Students are invited to submit designs for this year's tournament logo. This logo is used on the tournament program, t-shirts, sweatshirts, patches, pins, and on the tournament website pages.
The design should reflect the 2010 MCHS field show music. This year's show music is "The Holy Egoism of Genius". The design should include: "The 34th Annual Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands 2010". The text can either be incorporated into the design or be just underneath or around the design. (See the attached PDF for samples.)

0 commentsWe've made it halfway through the 2009 field season. It's seriously gone by so fast. Once we stepped onto Westview's football field, the momentum carried on from there. Now we're left with only two more performances, three if you count Fiesta Bowl. The time has come where we can feel the sweepstakes in our grasps, but we I think we need to be reminded about how much we want it. It's obvious we have a great show concept in our hands, but we need to realize how to make it come alive, how to make it uniquely our own. It's our instructors and coaches' job to hand it to us, but it's our job to bring it to life, to leave the audience breath-taken.
Now, more than ever, we need to put in all the time and effort into this show. Every minor flaw is starting to stick out, more and more every day. We can all see that the instructors get frustrated when it doesn't get fixed. Concentrating on one little problem; your step size there, the interval here, your timing over there, will only make us that much better. Living with the regret at the end of the season, telling yourself that "If I had only done this, it would have made a big difference" is just the kind of thing to make your stomach churn. We need to push ourselves to our maximum capabilities. Something as simple as performing with more emotion is so general. It can make a huge difference. There are endless ways to perform better. It shouldn't be hard for us to do. It can make a loud statement to the spectators, instructors and judges.
Next time someone says "Go full-out", do so. It can make all the difference. There aren't many chances left.
