Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands

Dear Friend of the Marching Sundevils,
During this difficult and challenging time, we offer our thoughts to you and your families. As you know, the fires in San Diego forced the cancelation of the 31st Annual Mt. Carmel Invitational Tournament of Bands. The Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands is the single most important fundraiser for the Mt. Carmel Band Boosters, and we are still assessing our losses as a result of the cancelation. The money made from the band tournament goes right back into the instrumental music program at Mt. Carmel High School to provide the resources essential to a quality music education. We firmly believe in the benefits of a quality music education in our schools and hope that you share our commitment to music education.
The Tournament Committee knows that many of our friends and families have contributed to this year's band tournament in the form of entry fees, advertisements, trophy sponsorships, parking and ticket purchases. We appreciate your continued support of the tournament, especially during these difficult and challenging times. We hope that you will consider your contribution a donation to the program, however, we will give you a refund if you desire. We would like to handle refunds in an efficient manner and kindly ask that if you are requesting a refund, you complete the refund request form and return it to the address specified on the form by November 17, 2007. The Mt. Carmel Band Boosters is a 501(C)(3) organization. Any donations made to our program are fully tax deductible and we will provide written documentation for any contributions made to our program.

Tournament Announcements
31st Mt. Carmel Invitational Tournament of Bands Programs
The tournament committee is taking pre-orders only for a small run of digitally printed programs. They will have a color cover and the same number of pages as the original programs. We are selling the programs for $5 which is about the cost to produce them. If you would like to have a souvenir of our canceled tournament, please fill out the request form and send it with a check or money order to the address below. Please do not bring forms to the band room or give them to anyone other than Jane Findley. When the programs are ready, we will arrange a pickup time at the school or you can pick them up a Jane's house. If you would prefer to have your program mailed, please indicate this and include an extra $1 for each program. If you have any questions, please email Jane at findley@san.rr.com.

Regretfully, due to the fire situation and school district restrictions, the 31st Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands has been canceled. At this point, we don't anticipate rescheduling. Our thoughts are with everyone in Southern California who have been affected by these tragic events.
