Fundraising
Student fundraisers benefit the instrumental music program through a carefully recorded "student account" method. This method earmarks your student's earnings in the MCBB account. A portion of profits go to the general fund to cover the cost of running the fundraisers and to provide some revenue to the organization. But Student Fundraisers principally benefit the participating student. Your student can withdraw money form his/her student account to reimburse eligible expenses. Music lessons, assessment fees, uniform shoes, band/orchestra/guard trips, and much more, can be paid for by withdrawals from the student's MCBB account. (Check the MCBB handbook in Forms for details.)

Calling All Mt Carmel Band, Color Guard and Orchestra Parents…..
Did you know that Mt Carmel is a test center for the SAT exams? And did you know that the Mt. Carmel Band Boosters administer the SAT exams as one of our very profitable fundraisers? MCBB receives an honorarium from the testing company and those parents who volunteer receive a stipend that is credited to their student’s account. The balance of the honorarium goes to the MCBB General Fund.
When you volunteer, not only are you adding a large amount of money to your student’s account but you’re helping to keep our music program running by providing the funds for instruction, equipment, instruments and travel expenses. In addition, having Mt. Carmel as a test center is valuable service and convenience for your own child when it comes time for him/her to take the SAT exams. Being able to take the exams at their home school is a great advantage to a student. Volunteers can earn between $35 and $52 for one morning’s worth of work! Every test day, we need a total of 35 volunteers to accommodate the 600 students who are registered to take the test. There are two jobs available—classroom test administrators and hall proctors.
Want to learn more about this opportunity to put boatloads of money into your student’s account? Come to the SAT exam orientation/training meeting so see just how easy it is to be part of the SAT Administration team.
