New year, new semester, new concert season!
Post-marching season, band and guard students are staying busy.
Festival season is in full swing now, with the band's first festival, El Camino, approaching fast. Our second festival at Poway is not far behind. Our pre-festival concert gave us a chance to evaluate ourselves and set some goals for improvement, and each ensemble continues to work hard to master performance pieces...Good luck to all at festival! Let's blow away the judges and show everyone that Mt Carmel shines on the stage as well as the field!
Congratulations to Winter guard! Both JV and varsity are enjoying a successful season and have amazing shows. If you get the chance, turn out to watch their performances...they look incredible! Their hard work is definitely paying off.
Mt. Carmel's Jazz bands are doing great things. Their recent concert was incredible and showcased multiple impressive soloists. Under the direction of Mr. Lapre, the ensembles will be performing at upcoming festivals...watch out for these quickly-rising groups! Take the opportunity watch their performances and offer well-deserved support. Mt. Carmel's jazz program is really taking off thanks to the hard work and talent of these remarkable students and their director.
Congratulations to all who made the All-state and All-southern Honor Band Groups! Kevin Cardenas, Rocio Guerrero, Jay Caparino, Jason Findley, Matt Geller, and Allison Cardoso, and Ben Young were accepted into the Fresno Honor band, and auditioned into some of the highest groups there. Lara Xavier, Heather Sandison, Andrew Findley and Andrea Ito were accepted into the Ontario Honor Band Convention. Kelsey Chesnut and Ben Young were accepted into SCSBOA Honor Band. Congratulations...you make us proud!
This concert season is definitely busy, with three concert ensembles, Jazz bands, Hawaii Band, Pep Band, Winter Drumline, and Les Miserables Ensemble all rehearsing and preparing for performance. Get involved, or just turn out to listen and enjoy the product of everyone's hard work!!
