The sweat drips, the body aches and the sun seems to be beating down even hotter everyday. We practice, we march, and then we do it all over again. From class, to sixth period, to long Wednesday nights, and treacherous Saturday afternoons…we Fight On. Yet many may ask why we do what we do? Why do we bear the heat and the never-ending rehearsals? Why are we here putting ourselves through all of this? Well the answer may be simpler that one might think… 
however to an outsider…not easy to explain. Its one of those things in life where its more the journey that counts rather than the destination. Yes, we might be out here everyday working our butts off, but we’re all out here…together. The friends, the experiences you find out on that field are priceless. After four years in band I have had ups and downs, good times and bad…but I have made it through…not on my own strength, but with the help of this family I have come to know, love and persevere with. In the end it’s not how many hours you’ve practiced, how many steps you’ve marched or how many pieces of plastic you’ve won that counts. When it all comes down to it…you will remember the comrades you marched onto that field with when they finally say, “Mt. Carmel, the Judges are Ready,” you will remember the feeling when you can’t breathe after playing a show that just took your breath away. For it’s the moments like these that will stand the test of time, it is the moments like these that truly give us the reason to Fight On. This year is going to be one to write down in the history books…so make every moment count Mt. Carmel…for in the end you will know why the “Sun NEVER Sets.”
